Technology Strategy and SOW for a Fortune
500 Company
The Challenge:
A large Media conglomerate in New York with
annual revenue of over $26 billion wanted
to automate the compensation to Artists
and companies in Music Industry. The challenge
was to create an SOW for an N-Tier Web based
solution, which had complex compensation
rules with very high degree of individual
discretion so typical of a Music Industry.
The existing Client Server System had to
be thoroughly studied and UI and Functional
specs had to be transformed suitable to
a modern N-Tier Architecture. An Industry
Leader IT company in India hired Xellent's
services to provide expertise on technology
strategy and SOW preparation on a fast paced
offshore project.
The Solution:
Xellent conducted enterprise wide onsite
interviews ranging from Global IT Director
to IT Support and user groups on the client
side as well as Interviews of Offshore Project
Managers over the Tele/Web conferences.
Xellent then suggested the Architecture
and Technical Approaches for the Future
system. The result was a comprehensive SOW
for Modern N-Tier Microsoft.NET based Architecture.
The Benefits:
The SOW was accepted by the client and the
Indian IT Company was awarded a fixed bid
multi-million dollar contract. The users
of the product could transact contracts
with the Artists and Music companies on
the road or in an informal entertaining
environment using mobile devices, thus allowing
quicker turn around resulting in direct
saving for the client, with an estimated
ROI within 6 months of implementation.
